![]() Resolume Arena had been opening normally until yesterday since installing earlier this year. I'll keep this thread up to date with my research. Yesterday, after updating Wire, I tried to open Arena 7.5.0 but it did not open and a Crash Report dialog box appeared which I then forwarded to Resolume (see below). The problem with the code is that it DOES ask R6 for the name, but since it triggers "on OSC" it isn't triggered until OSC is sent for that function. I post on the forum, yeah, no solid luck so far. Thank you for your work, it helps me a lot. I'm sure we will get to the point where we like to be: complete control and complete feedback of the software. Adding effects in key moments is done in the CLIP POSITION mode and by adding an E. Time for testing and checking things out, time for editing the collected imagery during summer. We can enhance our VJ clips by adding effects in key moments in the clips. Well it's winter time where outdoor projections are stalled anyway. I will register there soon, there surely are others with the same demands. Myself I'm a bit reluctant to join that forum because the tone does not show the seriousness as I would like, but that's just an impression. Do you have an account at the Resolume forum? That's probably the better place to discuss these topics. I guess it takes some more patience and effort to make these things work in v.6. ![]() Two things didn't work at all (clip names, Spout), which function well in v.5. But after installing Resolume 6 demo version, I admit I was quite disappointed. So, weve been using 'No New Features' as our mantra since the release of 6. Before you know it, youre adding new things, without having made sure that the current feature set is working as best it can. When you read the description you have the impression that all the dreams come true, that everything is settled and solved. Resolume Avenue & Arena 6.0.5 update: Stick to the Plan When making software, its very easy to get carried away. Yes, that's what it should do according to the description or advertising of Resolume 6. Imza wrote:I wish I could figure out a way for Lemur to actually ask/prompt Resolume for the text data instead of just receiving it when the OSC is sent. I wish I could figure out a way for Lemur to actually ask/prompt Resolume for the text data instead of just receiving it when the OSC is sent. Make visuals more compelling by adding extra motion that changes effect parameters dynamically and alters the look of any visual. This Resolume tutorial for Arena 4 & 5 and Avenue 4 explains how to make effects respond to any audio source by using Resolume’s built-in Audio FFT functionality. Sometimes it's layer 4 clip 2, sometimes it's clip 5, but it won't work for a while and then it'll start showing up. Resolume Tutorial: Creating Audio Reactive Effects. ![]() The deck names don't work at all unless they're renamed-I'm assuming this is because I have the trigger for the text to be "on OSC" and OSC isn't sent unless the app is started or the name is changed. I have a matrix of 4 layers, with 40 clips each, as well as decks with names. ![]() I haven't gotten Resolume 6 to work with text correctly at all. It's great to work like this, Resolume has finally become my VJ software of choice. Also after changing or moving a clip the names are indicated correctly. What works is to run Lemur first, then run Resolume. When using the Chroma Key mode in Resolume, I can specify the hue threshold and hue softness and get really nice blending, but I can't figure out how to do this with Luma Keying, and it's driving me nuts! I've read the manual several times, watched all the tutorials, and spent hours playing with the program, and still can't get results similar to what I have been doing for years in GVJ.And it looks like Resolume 5 doesn't understand this format. For example, what if I need to mask out only 47% luminance, and have the mask feather (Threshold/Softness) out to +/- 5% to make it a little softer? How can I do this in Resolume 4.2? In Resolume I can only pick a threshold above or below which everything is masked out, and even then I can't figure out how to feather (threshold) the blend on either side of the luminance selected. ![]() In GVJ I am used to being able to specify the luma I want to mask out, and then specify the threshold/softness from that luma. I am trying to mix several layers with luma keying. So, I'm hoping some experienced users here can give me some advice. I really like most of what I can do in Resolume much better than what is available with GVJ, but there are a few things I've yet to be able to replicate, and sine I've come to rely on this style of mixing, it's really holding me back from being able to use it for a show. I have been playing around with Res 4.x for the last few weeks, wanting to transition to it from GrandVJ, which I have been using for the last 5 years. ![]()
